KDB's NOLAN N-43

I have really liked this Nolan N-43 for the last few years. I just saw the latest version of this helmet last week. Looks just as good in my opinion & has some new nice features too. I won't upgrade any time soon, though...

I originally got mine for around $150-$170 from an Amazon merchant.
You can get an older model N-43 for pretty cheap now that the new N-44 is selling.
Check out features for Nolan helmets here:

Nolan Helmets - Motorcycle Helmets from Nolan - RevZilla

*I always price check both Ebay & Amazon first before buying anything though.

Thats awesome KDB. The N43 has a internal visor!!!!!!!! That makes things so much easier instead of having to carry two visors and switch to ride out the full day. Not a bad deal for the price too.

Great recommendation thanks KDB!

I have the Suomy vandal with a clear and blue iridium tint visor. It's a good helmet but alittle on the boisy side I find. Having the iridium helps with the sun during the sunny days but once night falls its really hard to see.

I don't think that would be a great idea unless you are buying froma really close friend or family. the first thing is that you never know if the helmet was ever dropped and you know once its been dropped its no longer safe to wear. Another thing you have check for is the date usually hidden behind the cheek pads. Helmets are only good for 5 years.

The "once dropped it is no good" thing is a myth. If the helmet has taken a impact from a crash it needs to be checked for any cracks or other damage and even the slightest sign of damage the helmet should be replaced. If it took a major impact it should be replaced even if there are no visible signs of damage.

Helmets do however have an expiration date but there is much debate as to how long it is. I have heard as low as 3 years and as much as 6 but 5 does seem to be the most common so I go with that. Helmets are one of things it is best to buy new and buy a good brand.

yea on the topic of used helmets, the resin and composites will begin to dry and crack as you begin to approach 5-6 years. I'd consider used jackets and perhaps pants but never ever would i trust my head to a used helmet. Besides the safety aspect why would you want to stick your head in someone else's sweaty, scuzzy mess...
