Air intake modification

Before doing any exhaust mods, I decided to open up the air box intake hole to allow more sound to escape. Sounds good.

Now that's pretty interesting. Would that perhaps shorten the lifespan of the filter because more dirt?

Garage
Air intake

Would it not be easier to remove one or both of the mufflers. I removed my mufflers and I love the sound of it. I really don't think cutting open an airbox exposing the filter is a smart idea.
The mufflers removed sounds a lot better and has a much cleaner look to the bike.

Did you replace it with some straight pipes or just removed mufflers so the piping is just cut short ?

Smart move, now imagine if you can find a way to better direct air into that box. If you ever plan on taking it up a notch to that level, please do keep us posted

From a number of owners, sure. But just seeing it from one owner won't be enough. After all, we ride in different environments. Someone living in the country side will have the cleanest filter.

That does make sense. Still interested to see it anyhow with a mileage rating and what not and at least have that information down for personal comparisons.
