suzuki gw250 not very freeway friendly

Sport Rider took one for a spin and found the suzuki gw250 to be an overall great bike, but it's one downfall is prominent when on the highway.

there’s little in the way of forward momentum until you sweep the tach needle past 7,000 rpm. From that point on up to the 11,000 rpm rev limiter there’s enough power to keep up with traffic but not enough to accelerate past the distracted driver who’s about to move into your lane.
I suppose this is going to be a problem for all small bikes, at least the gw250 makes up for it everywhere else.
